Help me give my students a PA system to use during assemblies and award ceremonies. We try to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our students and we don't have a working PA system.
I teach 1st grade at a high poverty, Title 1 school. I have 18 six year old students who can't wait to learn more about the world. My school is a Prek-5th grade elementary school. Students at my school have the desire to learn, but often lack the background knowledge needed for a successful school year. Many of my students do not have books at home that are challenging and stimulating to them. Some of my students don't have someone to read to them each night.
"If a child cannot learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn!" Ignacio Estrada had it right!
I am constantly looking for ways to improve my teaching since my students come from such different backgrounds and experiences. I try to ignite a love of reading within each child that walks through my classroom door!
My Project
Our school is struggling with a working PA System. Our current PA system is in the cafeteria and used for a variety of activities all year long. The system is constantly cutting in and out and we'd love to have a working PA system.

This PA system will make a HUGE difference in our school. It can be used for talent shows, chorus concerts, teacher professional development and so much more. We play music for our students during lunchtime and would love to have a PA system that does not cut in and out. We also hold title 1 meetings for parents in the cafeteria and struggle with being able to hear the important information due to our current PA system
