This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is my fourteenth year as a teacher, and every year, I continue to learn. Through the supportive staff and the amazing opportunities to grow as a teacher, I can't see what there isn't to love.

My students are what drive me every single day to not only be a better person, but to be a better teacher.

Working at a Title I school, my students come from many different backgrounds, but coming from a different background has not stopped them from wanting to come to school and bettering themselves as students. Their enthusiasm and love for learning is the light on the darkest of days. Although they all learn a different way, they always want to help each other within the classroom and outside of the classroom. As a teacher, I couldn't want anything more.

My Project

My students used measuring tapes, hard hats, and clipboards last year as they learned about area and perimeter. They had so much fun figuring out the measurements of each shape that was taped to the floor.

How much more fun will it be, when they have to get the measurements correct to get the ozobots to drop off one of the props in the right spot?

Then, they will know they know what they are doing.

It is my job to make sure my students have fun learning. This year especially as we head back into uncharted waters, I want my students to have as much fun learning as they possibly can.
