My Students

As a 4th grade teacher in a rural, country school I am challenged to help my students maintain science and tech knowledge. My students are eager for anything I can provide. Being part of a wonderful, yet small, rural community should not hinder academic accessibility.

I am graced to have 24 unique souls to learn with this year.

My students have varied backgrounds, however, all of us have something in common: we are eager to learn about robotics but are unable to afford the cost.

My Project

These Ozobots will be a creative, hands on way for fourth graders to learn about coding. Ozobots are tiny, hand held robots that are told what to do (programmed) via colored markers lines on paper.

The students will be able to use these items to tell, re-tell stories and create untraditional book reports.

They will also learn about coding and skills needed for their future such as problem solving, working cooperatively with others, and creative thinking.

I want to give my students the skills that will help them be successful in life. The jobs they will chose have not yet even been created.
