My Students

I teach 7th and 8th grade Computer Apps to 200+ students and starting coding this year with Google CS First. I have been lucky to be a part of the middle school faculty for the past 4 years. We now have two full time teachers teaching Computer Applications to 7th and 8th grade students. Our curriculum now includes coding, which we started this year with Google CS First and Scratch where students completed their first Google Doodle and loved it!

My Project

I would like to expand our classroom resources by including OZOBOTS to teach about coding and programming. We offer Web Design at our high school and many students request game development and programming. I would like to not only learn myself but be a part of STEM and inspire students to learn something new. Many are interested in coding and programming. We are starting a Maker Space in our school where students can use their creativity during lunch periods in the library. My Computer Applications class will be a perfect opportunity to take things a step further and teach a new skill.
