Ozobots for Kinder Coding Magic!

Help me give my students access to different types of coding. The Ozobot robots can be programmed with traditional block code and also can use color-coded lines to perform various functions on paper.

My Students

My students are passionate about learning! They have beautiful and creative minds; they need a little help bringing it out. I want to give my students coding experiences and skills and to help them bring out their creativity.

My students are full of life and energy and are always excited to learn.

They come from a disadvantaged school on the Windward side of Oahu. Our school is located in a predominately rural, low-income neighborhood with a considerable portion of the children of Hawaiian or Micronesian ancestry. I have a very diverse class of 16 students from different cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds. They are motivated young students who struggle with learning due to the lack of accessible tools.

My Project

I want my students to see education as a pathway to achieving their dreams, and I want to make sure that I am offering them every opportunity to learn the skills they will need to be successful, both in life and their future careers.

I have been working hard to provide access to technology and materials they might not have at home while also creating a community where my students can learn and grow together.

Ozobots are a very flexible coding platform that will help my students learn some of the many different ways to code.

Coding helps students with many skills they will need in the future, such as collaboration, complex thinking, perseverance, and troubleshooting skills along with the basics of coding language.

Even students who do not plan to be computer programmers as a career can benefit from a basic knowledge of coding.
