Ozobot in Maker Space

Help me give my students a class set of Ozobots, so they can all practice coding these robots at the same time and develop their problem-solving skills.

My Students

My students are fabulous! They come from many different backgrounds and cultures and a number have special needs.

They all love to learn about computer science and coding and are eager to figure out how to make it work.

They speak a number of different languages but focus on being kind to each other.

One student said "I love coming to the library and doing cool stuff!" We have been doing code week for the last four years, but many of the students are interested in taking it to another level. Having enough hands-on supplies is challenging with our budget, so we are looking for donors to help us give these great kids the opportunity to explore with robots.

My Project

Having an entire class set of Ozobots will allow all of the students in a class be able to work on their problem solving skills in designing mazes, dances, and sequencing of event for the robots to do. Teaching students to use effort and persist when it is challenging is much easier to do when the see the results of their work with the Ozobot.

All students should have an opportunity to learn about coding and how computer work and make decisions.

This project will allow me to reach my 450 students from K-5 at their level and develop this interest early so they can have access to opportunities down the road. My students love to learn and try new things.
