We are a class of 41 first through fifth grade Gifted learners located in Central Florida. Students participate in a resource classroom - coming to our classroom to receive training in thinking strategies and skills, problem solving, critical and creative thinking.
Ozobots are a great tool for critical thinking, creative production, and problem solving!
We have 5 Ozobots already - which we've used in all kinds of ways, including creating a Veteran's Day mini-parade, solving a Halloween critical thinking task, and demonstrating how a solar eclipse happens!
I've realized recently that we are held back a little bit due to the fact that we don't have a class set of Ozobots. It's time to build our Ozo-Library of robotic-dudes!
This project will fund a class set of the latest and greatest Ozobots! We can't wait to get started with them!
My Project
We have loved working with our older model Ozobots for a few years now, but we've been held back a little bit by the fact that we don't have a class set. These little bots are programmable in two ways: using markers to make lines & color codes which the bots can follow, and using an online program to create code using a Blockly editor. Two methods which allow for my youngest and oldest students to learn how to code, solve, and create!
It's time to up our Ozobot game by adding a class set of the latest and greatest Ozobots to our collection of technology tools.
Adding this class set of 12 to the five older Ozobots we already have will get us rolling along.
In addition to greater numbers, the latest and greatest bots have proximity sensors which we can incorporate to our programming efforts! We can't wait to add new skills to our challenges!
