This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Pulse Oximeters will support our mission of increasing fitness knowledge and improving overall fitness by understanding how rate of perceived exertion and heart rate are related.

The students at our school are from a large urban area, many have not had the opportunity to experience different forms of exercise.

One of the units in our Walking Wellness class focuses on the correlation between RPE and heart rate. If students can see their heart rate in real time while exercising it will help with the understanding of the link that ties the two together thus providing a valuable tool for students to learn.
