Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Over the past three years, I have watched my Keelen's Scientists grow and develop into eager learners. We have had many hands-on learning experiences and sense-making discussions in our Science classrooms.
Little did we know a pandemic would alter the way we learn science for the rest of the year.
We are using online platforms to continue learning. We are using limited resources to continue to explore physical and life sciences through videos and live lessons. This virus has taken the hands-on world of science away, but there is still hope!
My Project
My students are working hard through these unprecedented times. They are attending weekly conferences on Microsoft Teams, submitting assignments on our digital platform and keeping the lines of communication open. We are facing challenges head-on and working together to achieve the best we can.
Many of my students are visual learners.
Having a way to create models and demonstrate lessons, will greatly benefit meeting NGSS standards and expanding our virtual learning. Chart paper, virtual assignments and markers are just one way that we can elevate our lessons.
This pandemic will not limit my students' abilities to continue to be Keelen's Scientists!
