This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
4th graders at our school are lucky to have a cool new student-teacher who can't wait to dive into some hands-on math/science integration lessons! Our plans include dissecting and graphing the contents of owl pellets. Won't you please help us by donating to our project?
My student-teacher and I teach a dynamic group of 70 fourth-grade students.
We are located in an urban, high-need area. We are very diverse! Many of us speak Spanish as our first language and are only just learning English. Additionally, we have a very large special-education population. This hands-on lesson will help our diverse learners grasp graphing and science together!
My Project
We are requesting 75 owl pellets (insert "ew" here) for class use. We will use dissection tools to gently pry apart our pellets. Then, we will examine the bones inside each pellet! From here, we will graph the results. This awesome activity will also allow us to study food chains, predator-prey relationships, and many other concepts!
Please donate to this project!
Our limited resources at school make this project impossible without you! This will sure to be a lesson that students enjoy and remember for years to come! Additionally, you will be helping out our student-teacher who has designed this unit for our special 4th graders! Thank you so much! We can't wait to share pictures with you of our activity!
