This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am working with a small group of students that struggle with learning disabilities, anxiety and face difficult personal battles daily. My goal is to offer them a safe, nurturing environment to enjoy while working on developing skills to overcome their struggles.
My Project
The items are intended to be utilized during group sessions and one on one sessions with students that face various emotional challenges. Each item in the cart will be valuable teaching tool, or a deescalating resource available to students throughout the school year. The book will be utilized as a guide for small group instruction, while the cards will be used for social groups, one on one sessions and as a "get to know me" activities. Each bin with fidget toys will be used as a resource during anxiety group or for students to utilize independently.
