Our 6th-grade students are from very diverse backgrounds. Many of them are from different parts of the world, especially the Middle East. These students have left their homes to come to America for a better life. At our school, our goal is to give them that better life.
Our group of 6th-grade students is more compassionate than you would think.
They stand up for one another even though they have their ups and downs. We are like one big family who supports and cares for one another even through the tough times.
My Project
The 6th-grade students of our amazing school will be able to learn about nature and the outdoors. Our students will be learning about weather, archery, the outdoors and so much more. They will get to do hands on activities that we cannot provide them here at school.
This field trip will help these students understand more about nature and different places since most will never leave their small community.
Being from low-income families, our students are not able to do many fun adventures. Spending the night in the desert will be a unique and once in a lifetime opportunity for most of them.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
