Overhead Projector to Differentiate Instruction

My project needs an overhead projector, transparencies, and overhead markers.

I am in desperate need of an overhead projector! Someone please help!!! I am a second year teacher and I work in Chicago Public Schools. I teach special education to fifth through eighth grades all at the same time and I want to use an overhead to differentiate my instruction through colored markers. My school cannot afford to purchase one for my classroom and they are too expensive to buy on my own. I want to use the overhead in all subject areas, using different colors for each grade level to differentiate. I have a blackboard in my classroom but several of my students have trouble seeing what is written on it. The board is old and hard to write on. If I had an overhead, each child would have an easier time seeing what was on the screen. I think using an overhead is much nicer and looks cleaner. If I had an overhead projector, I can save the transparencies and re-use them again. Also, if a student was slow at copying things down, I could give him/her the transparency to copy at a later time. I think they are also nice so if a child is absent, he/she can get the notes from me on an old transparency. I would use the overhead the first day of school to create a classroom set of rules, and to have the children read my expectations and procedures. If anyone could donate, it would mean a lot to my students and I! Thank you.
