This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a new teacher and I teach second grade in an elementary school in Washington Heights. I have acquired an overhead projector and have started using it frequently with my class, especially during Math and Literacy. However, I do not have a place to keep the projector safe and at the moment, it is on top of my reading center because of the lack of space. Every time I need to use it I have to take it from the Reading center and move it to students\' desks. This has become a waste of valuable teaching time and on top of that it is a hazard because the students might walk by and trip on the wires and take the projector with them.
I would love a cart to permanently store my overhead projector so that it stops being such a hassle to use, and most importantly for my students to experience more lessons through the overhead projector, which amazingly captures their attention. In addition, I am in need of transparencies in order to print the math problems and reading excercises.
