I need this Wilson Reading System professional development to help support my students with dyslexia and other language based learning disabilities. I can’t wait to get my students excited about reading.

My Project

I am a certified Wilson Reading System Dyslexia Practitioner. My Wilson Reading System Certification has prepared me to effectively implement the Wilson Reading System with students who are reading and spelling below grade level, as well as those diagnosed with a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia.

A critical factor for student success is the teacher’s knowledge and skills, and the ability to apply those in the classroom with students.

The WRS has deepened my content knowledge.

This professional development will deepen my knowledge of the English Language even further. By the end of this professional development I will be able to Identify factors for successful WRS small-group instruction. Review the planning for and execution of WRS Lesson Blocks 1, 2, and 3 and differentiating instruction for maximum group success. Determine how to ensure students successfully access complex text; both literary and informational text structures. Understand how to select the appropriate text and tasks for students in order to effectively plan for and deliver fluency and comprehension instruction.

Margaret Fuller said, “Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” I would like to help my struggling students cultivate the reading skills they need to help them become leaders of the future and with your help I can do just that. Thank you !
