My students need round picnic tables, a folding picnic table, a hammock chair, and three hexagon outdoor tents to make an outdoor classroom sitting area.
This project expired on August 4, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
"If a child cannot learn in the way we teach, we must teach in a way that the child can learn." - unknown author
My school has a high percentage of free and reduced-price lunch recipients.
We also have a large diversity of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
This year, I have a mixed ability group consisting of nine boys and eleven girls. Some have grasped reading skills at a faster rate than others, and some need a little more time. They are eager to learn.
I was inspired by the project Outdoor Student- Centered Nature Environment. We decided in order for the kids to enjoy being outside, they would need seating. Round picnic tables would allow students to easily collaborate with their other first grade friends. The round tables would allow for everyone to work on the project in the middle. We could also use a 6-foot folding table. This table would be easy to move outside to the location, that the table would be needed.
The hexagon castle tents are the perfect shaded areas for kids to sit in the shade.
My students can read a book under the shade, or work on a classroom project. The hammock chair will be perfect for outdoor sitting! My class will be great outdoor thinkers!
