My Students
My children are inquisitive, creative, and compassionate. They thrive on social interactions and hands-on activities that promote productive struggle. Our school is located in a predominantly rural, low-income neighborhood with a considerable portion of the children being of native Hawaiian and/or Pacific Island ancestry. Even with the financial challenges impacting their lives, my children want to come to school and are excited to learn. They possess invincible grit when tackling new projects. They truly light up my life!
COVID-19 has devastated our school community.
Normally, I am able to accept twenty children. This year, I am again limited to only ten, due to distancing issues. There are many procedures and protocols which need to be followed. Although things will still be out of the norm, I am determined to make the "new normal" an incredible learning experience for my precious children!
My Project
As we head into our second quarter of school, there are many adjustments that need to be made inside of the class to ensure my children are healthy and safe. One of those adjustments includes spacing out the tables for the children. To do this, I need to store our sustainability tools and outdoor equipment outside. This will not only free up space inside the classroom, but will also open one of our two bathrooms we are currently using as storage space. This will ensure that my children are socially distanced while inside the class, but still have access to these items during outdoor play.
These outdoor storage sheds will make space on the inside of my class so that my children can engage in learning and follow Hawaii Department of Education Return to Learn guidelines.
Lend your helping hand to keep my little ones healthy and safe as they return to school!
