My Students

My students are K.I.D.S. They are knowledgeable, inquisitive, determined, and successful. The school they attend serves a low-income area. For many students, school is sometimes the most consistent part of their day. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been very consistent. I have great pride in my students. My school is located in a rural area. Recently our district has consolidated schools. We have students from four communities combining to create new grade bands and schools.

We are the hidden gems of the school district.

The students in my class are thirsty for knowledge. They come to school ready to learn. This year the first nine weeks will be distant learning. This won't stop them from wanting to learn. In fact, it has fueled them. They have big goals, ideas, and hearts.

My Project

We have an outdoor nature area that is in need of more seating space. Since we are trying to keep students distanced we need an additional seating area. The artificial grass will give the students a comfortable place to observe nature. The landscape border will keep the rug protected, defined, and anchored. The landscaping pins will secure the turf and border. Most importantly it will allow students to safely social distance.

Observing nature gives students a deeper appreciation of living things.

Students work on strengthening writing skills while they are recording their observations. They get hands-on experience with science concepts. Having seating will help us enjoy all the great things the outdoors have to offer.
