My Project

The quality of recess can impact the benefits children receive. A safe playground with equipment that inspires creativity and adults interacting with children can help children experience the full benefits of recess.

My goals for this project are for my students to develop a strong foundation of daily exercise.

Equipment such as new playground balls, jump ropes, and toss sets will help them with their social development skills through play, and help them with their cognitive development.

Getting creative on the playground and making up a game other kids enjoy can leave a child feeling proud and with a more positive self-image, for instance. These positive experiences are crucial for kids. The mental health benefits don’t stop there, either. They translate directly into a child’s success in the classroom, as play benefits productivity and academic performance.
