Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The majority of students in my classroom are diagnosed with autism. My students are caring, fun, and I love teaching them through play every day! My students have significant needs in communication, social skills, motor skills and cognitive abilities. In addition, many of my students have health challenges such as feeding issues and allergies.

I teach in a Title I school in Southern California.

My school is located in a low socio-economic area where most students qualify for free meals. Families truly depend on our school to provide a safe, engaging and productive learning environment!

My Project

I am requesting Easy Brick Building Block Sets, five bubbles, and an outdoor storage cart. My students are in an intensive, full day program which includes two hours of outdoor rotations. These materials will be used every single day by my students!

My students need these materials to support learning during outdoor play.

The building blocks will target social-emotional development as students work together. The bubbles are always a fun activity which also promotes eye hand coordination! The outdoor storage cart will allow for me to easily bring out more materials and keep them safely stored. Materials like puzzles, manipulatives, and more!

Outdoor play is so much more than "play"...it is truly taking learning to the outdoor classroom! Please help me provide my students with meaningful time outdoors full of learning and fun!
