Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Over the years, I have observed how important it is for the young learners to have opportunities to develop their gross motor skills. As these skills are developed, it contributes to their fine motor skill development which in turn contributes to their academic readiness. These are skills learned and further developed outside, in order for them to be more confident when they get inside.

These materials will be used outdoors to help develop their overall spatial awareness wherever they are!

Understanding their spatial awareness while crawling through a tunnel allows them to be more aware of what's directly around them. This contributes hugely to their social-emotional growth in the classroom, especially as they are physically interacting with peers.

Bean bag tosses allow them to manipulate their arm movements and coordination, while taking turns with peers to throw and grab the materials. These materials were carefully chosen as they have numbers or shapes.
