My Students

I work at a Title I school that has students from various

socioeconomic backgrounds.

100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch daily due to the majority of students who need free breakfast and lunch.

I love my students because they try their hardest, no matter what is happening outside of school in their world. My students love to read, write, and really love a good science project. Their imaginations are vivid and it is so refreshing to be in a classroom with them.

My Project

We just started back to in-person learning on an A/B rotation. I've had my students for two weeks now and have learned that what they really love about school is getting to play with other kids! While we still social distance, we do still go outside and my kids are still 6 and 7 years old.

This quarantine has been hard on all of us, but nothing like it has been for the younger kids.

They miss playing with other kids. We are not allowed to go onto the playground, so we need new and fun ways to play. We rotate recess spots daily, so we aren't always in a place that already has something there to play with, for example basketball goals. These items would give my students enough fun things to do for the few minutes of fun they get to have.
