I teach a medically fragile preschool class in the morning and I assist in the moderate/severe afternoon preschool. My morning students have disabilities that range from orthopedic impairments, such as cerebral palsy, to vision impairment and hearing loss. The afternoon students have intellectual disabilities. The students range from 3 years to 5 years old. 4 of the students are in wheel chairs and 4 of them use feeding tubes to eat. It is my goal to enrich their lives every day.
The playhouse will help the students use their imaginations while at recess. They will be able to pretend to do jobs and be a family. It will also give some shade on these hot summer days.
The water table will allow them to get sensory input.
They will be able to use their social skills while sharing and taking turns. Kids love playing in water.
Both of these play sets will greatly improve the students outside play time. Some of these students have no access to play sets because of their mobility issues. Thank you for any help you can give to these amazing kids.
