it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a class of energetic, enthusiastic, and amazing students. Our school is a Title I school where most students come from low-income or poverty-stricken homes. All of the students receive free or reduced-rate lunch. Most are English Language Learners, while some have special needs. These students come to school eager to learn every day with big smiles on their faces, regardless of their circumstances.
I want to help my students in every way that I can in order for them to be successful in reaching their goal of developing their skills, and of course, have fun!
My Project
I am so excited that all my students have returned to in-person learning! So far I have met most of my students and they are awesome! This year we will be utilizing three different areas for recess: the playground, courtyard, and bus lot. The playground is an obvious favorite for my students, however the courtyard and bus lot is only a big, empty space for them to run around in. The students do not seem to have much fun at those two locations due to having nothing to play with.
For part one of my outdoor project, I would like to provide my students several different fun activities and materials that they can use during recess.
The activities will give my students the opportunity to interact with each other and apply their social skills they will learn throughout the year. It will also teach them about sharing, including others, and taking care of our materials. These include catch games, balls, a bean bag toss game, jump ropes, and sidewalk chalk. The air pumps will help inflate the balls.
