Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our high school students are uniquely creative, fun-loving individuals who thrive outdoors. Despite facing challenges, they exhibit resilience and joy in learning.

Our project aims to create inclusive, supportive environments that celebrate our special students' strengths and foster socialization skills.

I plan to use the resources during the spring and summer days because that's when the weather is best. I will use the badminton equipment to engage them in a challenging but fun activity. I know most of them will not like it at first but they will learn teamwork and overcoming a challenge through this play. Not to mention the socialization aspect. They currently laugh and play so well and I would love to continue that in the sunshine and year round.

As for the TPT resources, I plan to use them as a supplement to their learning. I use that as a way to provide individualized support daily for all my classes (Language Arts, Math, and Life Skills). TPT has great resources for executive functioning and reading activities such as comprehension packets and projects relating to what we are currently learning. All of my students are learning at different levels. TPT allows me to gather resources that fit their needs and levels of support.
