My Project

Our school is launching an outdoor classroom to encourage extending learning beyond the classroom. To do this, we need outdoor learning “go bags” or a set of bags filled with materials ready to go that teachers can have their classes grab and go as they head outdoors. Our school is located in an urban setting and it is crucial that we get our students outside and learning about the world around them. With access to these materials, such as magnifying glasses, binoculars, and “wonder walk” journals, students will be able to become keen observers of the world around them and teachers will be able to utilize the outdoors to enrich learning opportunities. Increased time outdoors is crucial to social wellbeing. Help our school launch our outdoor classroom with learning materials, literature materials to add to our school library, stools to sit on, and a professional development book that details how to “move literacy outdoors” and make curricular connections to the world around us.
