My Students
I teach a class of sweet second-graders at a title-one school in Indiana. My class has a wide range of abilities and home lives. They are happy to be at school and eager to learn. We are a K-6 school with over 350 students and we have 3 second-grade classes. Our school has high standards for student learning. We believe all students can learn, and every staff member is committed to the success of each and every student. It is a wonderful place to teach and learn.
My Project
Due to COVID-19 and the focus on social distancing, I would like my students to have the opportunity to enjoy learning outside while getting fresh air. They can be seated a safe distance away in portable camping chairs while participating in reading and math lessons.
Being outside will allow the students to sit six feet apart and help prevent the spread of germs while working in the shade on their lessons.
Students will be able to choose a place to work while using the chair's cup holders to store their water bottles and writing utensils.
