Help! Our old faithful computer has stopped working! It's time to take out the old computer and bring in a new computer! We use this computer daily for literacy, math, and writing activities. Every time it crashes it interrupts our learning!
I am a looping teacher, which means I keep my students for 2 years.
Currently, I have a class of second graders. They are bright, energetic, and they love to learn! My students attend a large public school in a large urban city. My 2nd graders love to use technology tools. We use our computers for reading (raz-kids, Brain-Pop, Tumble Books) and math (Xtramath, Brain-Pop, ScootPad) and for many other things such as writing, research, and learning games. We rely on this computer throughout the day, and we need a computer we can count on!
My Project
We are asking for a laptop to replace an old computer because:
1. A laptop is portable and can move to many learning spots in and outside of our classroom.
2. We just got an interactive whiteboard in our classroom (Hooray!) and we need a reliable laptop for it to function correctly.
It is so frustrating when you are planning to complete an Internet based activity and you have to spend a lot of time waiting for the computer to cooperate. A new laptop would eliminate this problem because it would be fast and reliable.
Because I keep my students for 2 years, this project will impact my current students as well as many other first and second graders in the future.
This is also why we need a computer we can rely on to work hard for us! Our school does not have the funding to equip our classroom with the technology tools we need. This project will enhance and enrich the learning in our classroom by providing us with a reliable learning tool that will make our lessons come alive!
