My Students
We are home to nearly 1,300 students from across the city. Nearly 200 students within the school population are in our band. Our students come from diverse backgrounds but come together because of music. Majority of our students are within 5 miles of the school but we also serve 350+ students from nearly 15 miles away. Nearly 30% of our student population is considered Title I and needs financial assistance to thrive in the Arts.
Our Band vision reads, "Maturing in to the best person we can be, one day at a time.
Our mission statement reads, "Cultivating a musical community through respect, compassion, responsibility, and service." We strive to be our best through the gift of music.
The arts are making a difference in our community and we desire to give back. Through your generosity, our students will be able to have a more enriching music education experience and will be directly impacted because of your giving.
My Project
Our Band room recently encountered some recent water damage due to a large amount of rain in the area. Due to the amount of water, the filing cabinets we now have, have rusted at the base. These cabinets were in dire need of replacement even before this flooding. Each cabinet is a different size/color and some drawers do not work. Our goal is to fully fund this project within a week and replace the old cabinets. A local Boy Scout group is coming to update our music library area and to have these cabinets in time for their project would be a blessing!
