This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten students are full of energy, wonder, and enthusiasm for learning. They come to school eager to learn new things every day.
They love OUR classroom and I am striving to make it as exciting and fun as I possibly can.
Our classroom is in rural California, and many of our students' families work in the fields of the agricultural industry. Our school is a Title I school. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
The community where my students live is impoverished and can be riddled with gang violence. One in seven students in my school district is homeless.
My Project
I am requesting a Cricut Maker and accessories to use in my classroom for many purposes. In this time and age I am still cutting out shapes, letters, cards, and other Kindergarten stuff by hand. The Cricut can facilitate this process and at the same time make it more fun and exciting for my students. Together with my students we can design and make interactive bulletin boards, literacy projects, math projects, holiday gifts, alphabet letters, individualized flash cards, and images to correspond to letter sounds; the list is endless. In addition, the students can see firsthand how technology has advanced from using die cuts and cutting by hand to this amazing machine that will do the cutting for me and save much valuable time. By funding this project you are allowing me to put more time into teaching and less time into prepping. My students will benefit greatly from the projects that can be facilitated by the Cricut Maker.
