This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of very energetic and opinionated kindergartners. We are a small charter school with a lot of challenges, but we still try to make the best of it by providing quality learning experiences to our students.

For many of my students, kindergarten is their very first school experience.

They start the school year shy and unsure of themselves, but quickly they become confident in their learning and their true colors start showing. In our class, they know they are part of a team and a school family, and they love working together to help each other learn and succeed.

My Project

These materials will help my kindergartners learn about outer space. The inflatable solar system balls will help them identify the name and characteristics of each planet. While the stickers will allow them learn some of the constellations and will enable them to participate in hands on projects. Since my students are emergent readers and explorers, the books will motivate them to read more and help them take their wonder for space home and share what they have learned with their families. This project is sure to make them think and wonder about what else there is out there to explore!
