My Project
This will be the first group to start the year with cleaning up and making a garden, we are fortunate to have a free field trip to see how we can get started. Therefore when we return we can set up our own school garden. The selection of seeds is to invite butterflies, it will be beautiful to see for all students here. The Gifted students will maintain the garden throughout the school year.
The second project is to understand architecture through the years, from the Parthenon to the works of Frank Llyod Wright using nature.
We hope to have a fundraiser to have a field trip to a museum at the local college that exemplifies many buildings by Frank Lloyd Wright!!! Students will have a selection of architecture they can research and use materials to make the architecture after they use graph paper to make their blueprints like a real architect.
Finally, a trip on a criminal scene investigation to see if King Tut was murdered but to do that they have to learn hieroglyphics. Students will have to write their solutions on the papyrus paper.
I want my students to be challenged to think out of the box and to have the out of classroom experience along with in the classroom with real world/historical research.
