My students need a complete box set of Social Studies resources.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. J.'s classroom raised $418
This project is fully funded
I am an elementary school teacher at a public school in Louisiana. We are a Title I school with several low-income families.
In my vast struggle to educate these students and attempt to get them on-level with reading, I often fail to incorporate Social Studies into the curriculum as much as I would like to. It is very important that children know about the world around them, including their own communities. Some of my students do not even know the difference between a city and a state, so of course they do not know about countries and continents. Therefore, I have noticed that I need to teach them as much as I can, including Social Studies.
So, what can I do? I have decided that one way I can help them is to ask for materials to teach them more about the world. I am asking for a set of materials about the different landforms and map skills, United States symbols, heroes, the different people of the world, and people long ago. This will enable them to learn about the world and have questions answered that I may not be able to.
Your help will help me to instill a value for our world into my students and make it possible for them to understand more about the people and places around them.
