Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom is a supportive learning environment for children with social and emotional disabilities. Many of our student are between the ages of 7 and 9 and have a love for art, creative play, food and personal calming areas.
What makes my students so very special is each and every one have their own special uniqueness about them.
Our students all require different things, whether it is special seating, certain toys to keep them calm, or a designated area in the classroom where they can go be when they need a break or to focus on their learning.
The goal for my project is to provide a comforting classroom filled with many various learning supplies which include manipulatives, toys, games, art supplies, storage for each student, special seating area around the classroom, a reading corner rug, various snacks and school supplies for those who are not able to afford them. Ultimately, I would like my students to feel safe and happy when they are in class as well as exploring all things in various classroom area that will keep them engaged in learning and smiling.
