With the device, they can instantly clarify directions, decode unfamiliar vocabulary, and check their understanding without the frustration or delay that often comes with language barriers. This real‑time support has helped them participate more confidently in whole‑group lessons, small‑group discussions, and independent tasks. You can see the difference in their engagement—they approach activities with more ease, take academic risks more willingly, and show a growing sense of pride in their work.\r\n\r\nIt has also deepened your ability to understand and respond to their thinking honestly. The translator gives them a reliable way to express questions, ideas, and misunderstandings that might otherwise stay hidden. Moments that used to feel overwhelming for them—like explaining a mistake or asking for help—have become opportunities for connection and growth. The tool has helped them feel seen, capable, and included, and it has allowed you to support them with greater precision, warmth, and responsiveness.\r\n\r\nThank you for sponsoring the Translating Learning project and making this transformation possible. Your generosity provided far more than a device—it gave a young learner access to their own voice, to meaningful participation, and to the confidence that they belong in every part of the classroom. Your support is shaping their academic journey in ways that will last for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1760554068033,"projectUrl":"project/translating-learning/9761398/","projectTitle":"Translating Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McInturff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6291000_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1708612975993","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsmac4"},{"teacherId":6291000,"projectId":9379418,"letterContent":"The new resources have made a tremendous impact in our classroom! Students love the rocker chairs in our classroom library—they've become a go-to spot for reading and quiet reflection. The headphones have been beneficial during computer-based activities, allowing students to concentrate on their work, explore educational games, and engage in digital lessons without distractions. These tools have enhanced our learning environment and made everyday tasks more enjoyable and productive.\r\n\r\nOne unforgettable moment was when the students first saw the rocker chairs. Their faces lit up with excitement, and many exclaimed that they had never seen chairs like those before. They couldn't wait to try them out, and it was heartwarming to see how something so simple could spark so much joy. As we progress, we'll continue using the headphones to support digital learning across subjects, while the rocker chairs will keep encouraging a love for reading. These resources make our classroom more engaging, comfortable, and student-centered.","fullyFundedDate":1749223139004,"projectUrl":"project/new-year-new-grade/9379418/","projectTitle":"New year, New Grade!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McInturff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6291000_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1708612975993","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsmac4"},{"teacherId":9607266,"projectId":8703506,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of \"Science Comes to Life.\" Our kindergarten students successfully hatched and raised 18 chicks in our new incubators. They loved learning about embryology as they incubated their eggs and waited 21 days for them to hatch. The best part was watching their eyes light up as the chicks hatched. After the chicks hatched and warmed up, our kindergarten kids learned how to handle and care for the chicks. Each day they monitored their growth and provided them with lots of love and care. After 6 weeks of raising our chicks they returned to the farm that provided the eggs. Many tears were shed by our kiddos because of the close relationships they developed with these chicks during their classroom stay. Thank you so much for providing the financial support to help fund this project. We couldn't have provided this experience without it and we look forward to continuing this project for many years in kindergarten.","fullyFundedDate":1727364145754,"projectUrl":"project/science-comes-to-life/8703506/","projectTitle":"Science Comes to Life!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9607266"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_90617","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":355,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":75,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":63,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":74.8,"schoolId":90617,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lincoln Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lincoln Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/bethlehem-area-school-district/lincoln-elementary-school/90617"}
