My Project

In the famous drama "A Raisin in the Sun", the main character, Mama, continues to care for her plant, which represents her dream of someday owning her own garden. Students examine the importance and symbolism of the plant and watch Mama's dream come to fruition when she buys her very first home at the end of the play.

Help my students "plant" their dreams and grow their very own "A Raisin in the Sun".

After finishing the play and discussing the importance of Mama's plant to the theme (don't give up on your dreams), my students will be able to use plant pots, soil and seeds to cultivate their own plant to care for. This is a hands-on and interactive way to bring the elements of our play to life. What is better way to teach students responsibility and perseverance? I am so thankful for your consideration in my project.
