I need my New York State SDL license to be the best educator I can be for my students and help move our school and district to new heights to benefit our students!
Our population is very diverse. We have many nationalities, cultures, and abilities. Our children come to school eager to learn and with a thirst for knowledge in spite of their socioeconomic hardships. Our parents do all they can to provide our children with the supplies necessary to succeed. We have an in-depth special education program, a gifted and talented program and a dual language program. My computer lab is used by students in Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade.
An elementary school classroom is like no other place in the world.
It is a home for little ones for six hours a day. Teachers not only provide an education in math, reading and other school subjects, they provide stability, love, acceptance and support for amazing little people. Teachers educate the whole child. Personally, I strive to teach values, love, and acceptance in my room as well.
My Project
I have recently completed a second master's degree in my pursuit of being the most effective educator I can be to benefit all of my students. In completing a School Leadership Masters, I have gained valuable experience and knowledge. Now my students need a teacher who is "Certifiable!" This exam, part II, will bring me one step closer to being New York State certified as a School Building and District Leader, an accolade that will only help me work to benefit my own students, the students of my building and my district. As a technology teacher, and STEAM representative for my school with the district, I have many opportunities to use this knowledge and certification to benefit my young learners and those around me!
