I am a Media Specialist at a rural high school in eastern North Carolina. Our student body consists of many students from economically deprived families. We have 56% free lunch and 8% non-English speaking students in our school. The thing we are most proud of is that we have 51% to 56% of our students on the Honor roll each 9 week academic quarter. Most of these students are on the Honor Roll all 4 nine-week quarters each year. One of my favorite special assignments as a Media Specialist is to help with an organization we have called "Academic Boosters". As an organization we have celebrations to reward our students for their hard work. Prizes are very hard for us to receive in this area because of the economic condition of most of our businesses and the private sector. People in the area do the best they can but we would like some nice prizes that we could share with our students. We would like to ask for some prizes that we could give our students to reward them for their hard work. The prizes we would like to request are all prizes that can help them achieve success in their education now and in the future.
