I absolutely love my job. I work at a mental health facility in the acute unit where students are admitted for a period of one to ten days. They come into my classroom afraid, in crisis, and feeling alone.
I try to reach them by building relationships and creating a safe, inviting atmosphere in which to learn.
Because they are working on their mental health while also receiving their classes for school, I like to have books and games for them to play when they need a break or have free time. I am currently limited in my book options for my classroom and have only one game for them to play while in my class.
I appreciate any and all help with this venture! This is an amazing place to work and these kids deserve books and games that help build self-esteem, relationships, and coping skills that will help to further their educational and personal goals. The magnetic white board will be a blessing because my classroom is also the cafeteria and there is no white board to use as a teaching tool.
