Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Over 150 students in our school have undertaken challenging social studies Advanced Placement courses in U.S. History, Psychology, World History, and U.S. Government. These college-level courses are renowned for better preparing students for college and increasing the chances of graduating college. As an inner-city school, we have an open-door policy for admittance to AP classes, with no requirements other than a willingness to succeed. Our data shows that students see growth in reading and writing skills that will last them a lifetime as well as building their self-esteem. This project will provide students with multiple practice exams, flashcards, essay papers, chart papers, pens, and other materials, allowing us to hold AP exam prep "boot camps" in the spring leading to the national exams.
