My students need an iPad in order to interact with our Square Panda, a Multi-Sensory Phonics Learning System!

My Students

My eager and able students are 3-5 years old. They happen to contend with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to autism, developmental delays and sensory processing dysfunction. My classroom is in a public elementary school populated by ethnically diverse, low-income students. In collaboration with our school’s exceptional administration and support staff, my students are part of an inclusive and progressive learning environment that strives to provide the best education possible with the limited material resources that are available.

My Project

Our classroom recently received Square Panda play sets, a multi-sensory program learning system with 45 Smart Letters that students can hold and manipulate. Our students now need an iPad in order to fully use the Square Panda in order to receive on-going exposure to letters, syllables, sounds and other reading fundamentals. This fantastic multi-sensory program learning system will help our students become much more confident young readers. They will learn letter name and sound recognition, as well as how to rhyme and spell their own names while using multiple senses, such as sight, sound, and touch. With these new manipulatives, our students will be more thoroughly engaged in fun reading activities and will be challenged in ways that will address and meet their individual learning curve needs. Because of students' engagement and excitement, while using the Square Panda playsets, they will also learn to share, communicate their needs and be responsible for the care of the playsets! With your kind help, I am very excited to acquire an iPad that will enable our students to utilize the Square Panda play sets and be engaged in phonics instruction. This powerful program learning system will also track their progress with a cloud-based system that measures each child’s individual progress, challenges, preferences for game types, and patterns of play.
