Who likes to sit at a desk all day? Not me! Nor my students. I want to provide them with a clean place to spread out and read or a place to play games. Help me with this goal, by contributing towards buying a vacuum to keep the class rugs clean and comfy.
My 4th and 5th grade students are high risk, poverty kids who live in the inner-city of Baltimore.
For many, some don't have any space to call their own. I want them to feel safe in a clean and comfortable environment, which will benefit the quality of learning that occurs.
My Project
By having a working vacuum, our classroom and others in the school will have clean rugs. This in itself, will help with cleanliness, durability of the rugs, and will provide an area in the room where students can learn in comfort and have more space than at their desks.
This one piece of equipment will impact close to 250 students.
Having a vacuum that can be used by all teachers will benefit everyone by having a cleaner learning environment and offer students an alternative to sitting at their desks.
