Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Witnessing my bilingual 3rd graders thrive in book clubs has been transformative! My students are excited about reading and engaging in meaningful literature discussions. This project will give my students access to a carefully curated selection of diverse, bilingual, and critically important books.

These texts will cultivate empathy, promote understanding, and fuel rich literature circle discussions, where every students' voices and perspectives are valued and protected.

They also provide rigorous opportunities to develop reading comprehension and fluency skills. My bilingual students will be empowered to analyze authors' purpose and craft, understand character development, and build vocabulary in both English and Spanish.
