This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hello!
2023-2024 school year is our school's STEM Level Up!
and will be the first time we will showcase students' hard work in a Science Fair. It will be a community event in which local organizations and supporters, schools, community members as well as families, are invited for a fun day of student recognition. We are located in South Los Angeles, with a high density of poverty and English Learners, and we strive to provide our scholars equitable access to high- quality rigorous instruction. We believe our scholars can meet grade- level expectations when provided with proper tools and devices. Our Science Fair will be one of many STEM initiatives this year to align with our new theme.
To ensure its success, we will need to provide students in groups of 2-3 a TRIFOLD or Presentation Display Boards. We are also open to receiving basic essentials required in creating an informative display- markers, glue, colored paper. Our goals for this project is to bring the community together, in our effort to build a working relationship, and for our scholars to gain a sense of pride and success at this early stage in their education. Our ultimate goal is for students to gain the knowledge and experiences that impact their local, state, federal, and global communities in ways that are rooted in the common good. Having a strong STEM presence can support the collective growth of our community.
