Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We propose creating a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) library and introducing flexible seating to enrich our elementary school's learning environment. An SEL library filled with diverse, age-appropriate books allows students to explore emotions, build empathy, and learn effective communication through relatable stories and characters. These skills are crucial for fostering a positive classroom climate, improving focus, and enhancing academic performance.
Flexible seating options provide a dynamic and adaptable space where students can choose how and where they work, promoting autonomy, comfort, and collaboration.
This setup supports a range of learning styles, contributing to better engagement and creativity. By investing in these resources, we are nurturing our students' social-emotional growth and setting them on a path to becoming compassionate, responsible individuals.
