Help me give my students some great new opportunities in the ag classroom! Many items are focused on laboratory experiences, storage, or organization. I hope to enrich our learning environment by focusing on these aspects within our program!
I will be new to the program this next school year at C. High School, where I will be teaching courses in the agricultural education program. Laboratory and science based lessons are important to the school and to my students, so I want to provide materials that are conducive to this. Digital microscopes will allow students to collaborate around exploring on a whole new level. We do not currently have a greenhouse, but to offer more plant learning to the students I am looking into plant growing trays and grow lights. A soil probe would allow us to take samples. Plastic containers can allow us to create our own kits of different samples of feed, minerals, aromas, or soil.
Hands on learning is important in higher level learning.
I enjoy incorporating hands on learning with lab experiences, but also reinforce those experiences through other learning tools. Some generic items on my wish list that can be multi-purpose and are amazing learning tools include lapboards, dry erase pockets, and a mobile whiteboard. These tools allow students to review and take different approaches to learning their content.
Lastly, storage and classroom organizational tools help us all keep some order to the chaos of learning happening. This includes bins for supplies, file and paper organizers, and carts. Being able to keep the classroom spaces organized for students allows the students to focus on the learning at hand, rather than spending time on finding materials or miscommunication where their work should go.
