Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year, I will have two classes of students since fourth grade at my school is departmentalized. I will be teaching math and science. These subjects can be very challenging for most students, but I know they will work hard and do their best. I am very excited to start my first year of teaching with this group.

My students are very diverse, most being ESOL students primarily speaking Spanish.

My goal is to make them feel as safe and as confident as possible in our classroom.

My Project

To be organized, I chose some items such as the 10 drawer cart and the drawer storage cabinet. Everything in our classroom should have a home and a place to stay in order to conform to the safe and inviting environment I am hoping for.

I chose the whiteboard clipboards and Expo markers to assist in flexible instruction as well as cooperative learning groups.

Group work is very beneficial to students growth and learning and I plan to incorporate a lot of group work throughout the school day.

I chose the floor rug to put in the front of my classroom for whole group instruction. My students will be more eager to come to the floor to participate in whole group instruction with a nice, comfortable rug to sit on.

I would like to thank DonorsChoose.org and those donating for helping transform our classroom into our very own safe place. By having these different materials, my classroom will be organized, comfortable, and safe for everyone!
