My Project

Students will use flexible seating and classroom decor to better engage with texts, collaborate in small groups, and participate in whole-class discussions.

Inviting chairs and intentional design creates a space that supports focus and community that will directly contribute to a key learning outcome: students will be able to analyze literature and express their ideas clearly through both written and verbal responses.

For example, during our unit on Romeo and Juliet, students will break into small groups using flexible seating areas to perform and annotate key scenes. Each group will analyze how Shakespeare’s language, tone, and stage directions reveal character motivations, then present their findings to the class.

This collaborative, discussion-based learning environment is strengthened by a space that makes students feel comfortable, respected, and ready to engage.
