Our school houses an all-gifted student population grades 3-8. We have just under 500 students. We are an urban school, and serve students from all over the city of Columbus.
We have a wonderfully diverse student body.
Our student body consists of students from many ethnic, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We strive to create an environment of academic rigor, as well as a positive, inclusive climate for all gifted students to thrive in.
My students and I work on many projects throughout the year which are designed to create a sense of community and positive identity. This isn't always an easy task in the middle school! While they are typical middle school students, I also know that they are kind and inquisitive. We are a family, and we band together to support their classmates in times of adversity. My students absolutely love using technology in their lessons, projects, and creations. But when we do actually break out the pencils and paper, my students are capable of creating amazing things. Their level of creativity is nothing short of amazing, and they impress me every day.
My Project
My gifted students are incredibly creative, and capable of producing the most amazing learning products I've ever seen. We do a lot of work digitally with chromebooks. This is a twenty-first century skill my middle schoolers have mastered.
However, my students hunger for the hands-on creative project supplies that would facilitate more physical examples of their learning.
In order to allow for this, we are in need of some supplies that will supplement our classroom projects and products of our learning.
Paints, brushes, iron-on transfers, and sharpeners for the pencils we use in our writing and creating would enhance our classroom productivity level and bring our learning alive in our classroom!
