Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are rocking and rolling as they are learning this year. Just yesterday 60% of them passed their Arizona Civics high school exam even though they are only in 8th grade! They are truly coming to school everyday and giving their all and they deserve to have the tools they need so they never stop learning.

Each of these items reflects a need of our classroom and will keep my students' learning as our primary focus.

My favorite item on the list is our new world map. Our last map was ruined by accident when our classroom had work done over the summer so it will be a joy to have one again. There are also some classroom basic supplies like: plastic folders, pens, pencils, lead refills, colored whiteboard markers, cap erasers, highlighters, sharpies, a 3-hole punch, ID badge necessities, clipboards, hall passes, To Do list notepads, and colored card stock that will replenish what we have already used this year.

In addition, there is also a few games to enhance our studies. For example, there is a history game to help with our studies, an updated Monopoly game, and the game Cover Your Assets to help us as we learn about finances. There is, of course, also an Uno game for team building that will replace our current one that is following apart from being played so much.

Finally, there is also some new technology such as a power strip, Velcro to attach the power strip, and headphone splitters. Each of these items will help make sure that lack of technology does not prevent any student from being able to join into each day's learning. While all of my students will benefit from these items, the ones who will benefit the most with be my ELL students.
